INTERNET FOR SENIORS

The internet is a great
place to find information, products, and services. This
class will give completers the ability to explore the internet
safely. This class is designed for seniors who have had
limited exposure to computers and the internet. Note the
special time allowing the senior to take the class and not
be away from home in the evening.

| SETTING UP A HOME WIRELESS NETWORK |
Completers of this class will have
the basic knowledge to turn their homes into a wireless
internet area. Wireless internet allows computers to access
the internet without being wired into a phone line or DSL.
This gives the user freedom to move about the house and
use the internet for work, school or personal. This class
will discuss the equipment needed and what modifications
might be needed to your computer or laptop.

| COMPUTER MAINTENANCE |
Bring your computer or laptop and learn the basics of
keeping it running like new. Students of this class will
learn to clean their computer inside and outside. Software
will be discussed and ideas and tips for keeping your
machine running efficiently will be given.

| KEYBOARDING FOR PRE-SCHOOL |
A class designed for four and five year olds. This class
will allow students an introduction to keyboarding or using
the computer as a typewriter. Students completing this class
will have and advantage by knowing how to use the computer
keyboard.

| KEYBOARDING FOR ELEMENTARY |
A class designed for first through third grade students.
Older students will be considered if space allows. This
class will allow students an introduction to keyboarding
or using the computer as a typewriter. Students completing
this class will have and advantage by knowing how to use
the computer keyboard.

| TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION FOR TEACHERS |
One afternoon discussion class designed for teachers
to discuss new technology for the classroom, technology
needs for their application and issues they are having with
current technology in their school. Refreshments will be
included.

| PERSONAL FINANCE |
Examine the primary topics of spending, debt, and saving.
You will be provided tools and techniques that will allow
you to make good spending decisions, avoid and eliminate debt,
illustrate the importance of saving for your future, and just
how easy it is to incorporate these strategies in to your
life. Explore important decisions such as buying a new car
vs. used, buying a fuel-efficient vehicle, credit card use
and the ramifications of making minimum payments, accelerating
your mortgage, selecting your insurance deductible, starting
a savings program at a young age and the Magic of Compound
Interest, prioritizing your savings goals, and much more.
